Life Amongst The Dead

Another night spent at the window
waiting for the winds to change,
bringing Spring with them.
Looking behind the pane,
under blankets of snow,
my eyes give way to a new beginning.
A bud of life
raised above the dead of snow.
Taking in this heaving change
I burst out in excitement towards the door,
forgetting my jacket and gloves.
Finding the bud, I shiver.
It has exceeded the cold,
and I can not, but shiver.
My hand reaches out to the bud.
Touching it, I take in it's warmth.
The feeling of Spring
The feeling of Warmth
The feeling of Life.
