The Sound Of Silence

Contributed by zenith66 on Sunday, 21st January 2007 @ 10:54:59 PM in AEST
Topic: DarkPoetry

Piercing, penetrating my straining ears
Waiting, lying bundled, my family in tears

No sign of life, no loving smile or pulse or breath
He has fallen to his death

It hurts me now, almost unreal, I swallow hard
An unearthly feeling of end

Mother sobs mutely into his lifeless chest
Limbs ruined and sprawled

It forces its way from ear to ear
Daddys gone...and the sound of silence is all that i can hear.

I haven't read the first entry so I can't say if this is any better, but I will say that I thought this was beautiful and it brought tears to my eyes.
