Solitude

Contributed by MisfitMe on Sunday, 21st January 2007 @ 10:54:07 PM in AEST
Topic: Lifepoems

Within solitude, I have sight~

in a way that has no need for eyes

Where heard is an unspoken truth~

that words have failed or turned to lies...

Beyond the fear of loneliness~

thrives the freedom of being alone

Above judgement & ideals~

where into myself, I've at last grown...

Solitude is a treasure~

with riches to which nothing compares

A personal gift from yourself~

that to receive, you have only to dare...

You have only to dare...

Solitude

I also liked your poem very much. The opening image is very powerful.

Within solitude, I have sight
in a way that has no need for eyes

Very nice. Might I suggest shortening that second line to maybe

In a way that needs no eyes

Hmmm. That doesn't really work either. Dunno. The line has just a slightly awkward rhythm to it. Great great stuff though. =)

this is refreshing, sometimes we don`t know what a gift alone" is till we are dropped into a mixing bowl" balancing between that fine line of depression and the gift" can get tough at times..excellent write. Crow

Ah a hermits prayer or one to invoke during fasting... but I must admit after re-reading, I wanted to party and hang out with a bunch friends as it is inevitable this solitude you depict the gifts are there but it helped me to decide that I am no dare-devil.

Excellent

Peace
AJ

Amazing how so many of us share this need for being alone. Kind of ironic, isn't it?
Then there areothers that will never understand this need. Very thought provoking write!!!

Good write. To become one with the solitude, to welcome it, is a wondrous thing. I still have troubles at time dealing with my solitude...but oh god I try.
Peace and hugs,
Laura

Yes this is put so wonderfully. It does share that space in my mind that is total comfort, peace and the only place of harmony I can find.
It is a joy to know alas you can be alone with self and be totally whole and happy.
Thank you.
