A Mothers' Revalations
I know now why I was always there,
And why you gave me a home to place my wandering care,
To watch your ever changing face,
And see you grow with human grace,
And human is all that you can ever be,
From some far star you came to me,
Handing over purpose, in innocent disguise,
Possesing no meaning just perfect surprise,
Life spawned from living life,
Lit your eyes and gave you sight,
Leaving humans dark embrace,
And from the womb emerged your face,
Challenging the life, deep within me,
with nothing but light, so pure and so free,
Life's miasma slowly cleared,
The future...crystal clear
You were everything i used to fear,

Welcome to YPDC, zenith66!
Terrific first post. As a mom myself, I recall the fear leading up to the birth of my daughter and know well the challenge of which you speak. Ah... but, yes... there are such precious moments born of the same!
This, in my opinion, is an easy read but I wouldn't refer to it as a "light" one (least, not for me). I particularly appreciate your offering near rhyme following "life" in lieu of the more common (overused, to my way of thinking) "strife". Your 'sight' was a much appreciated alternative.
Again, welcome!
