In The Strands Of You Hair

Contributed by Savannah on Friday, 21st February 2003 @ 07:00:00 AM in AEST
Topic: FriendshipPoetry

In the strands of your hair I see it
A longing for things to shift slightly
Until you have just a little something more
To get you through the day

In the shape of your feet I see it
A craving for a new path to walk
Paved with quiet nights and snowball fights
And delightful surprises around every corner

In the curve of your eyelashes I see it
A yearning for something so close
To come just a little closer
So you could hold it in the palm of your hand

In the flick of your wrist I see it
A hope that the next time he opens his mouth
It will be to tell you how much he needs you
Like you’ve told him so many times

In the color of your eyes I see it
A wish that things would get a little better
So that when he made you cry
He would in turn wipe your tears away

In the whispers of your heart I see it
A want to hear nothing but three words
And to know, without a single doubt
That they mean what you hoped they would

In the fibers of my being I hope you see it
How much I want all this for you
How much I’ll do whatever I can for you
And how much I’ll never stop
Being here or there, anywhere or everywhere
For you

This is excellantly written - you must really know your friend to be able to write like this, almost from her perspective.

Nice one :-)
