May I stand guard
Each and every night,
As the dusk takes with it,
The warm sunlight?
On the hill just above
Where my heart is at home,
I will guard as you sleep,
From nearby your own throne.
While your pretty head
On it’s pillow doth rest.
May you dream then of me
As my head rests tween your breasts.
Then with the rising
Of the morning sun,
May I wrap my arms
Around my precious one.
May you feel safe whenever I’m near.
And may our days together turn into long years.
May my prayers and love cause you to heal,
And as at peace with me as with you I feel!
