The Agenda

Topic: oops

The darkness covers all.
I have no place left to go.
i cant not tell you where i have been,
i can not even show a path.

I wander with no vision.
without direction i am alone.
i start to wonder where i am,
but theres the light to guide me home.
the light will shine for miles.
this person is rather nice.
but she is blind, has no direction,
i ask if she has advice.

she puts her arm around me.
gives comfort to my soul.
just follow closely she replied,
ill protect you till your old.
this woman knows not where ive been
she knows not where were going,
but she has a light and that just might
convince me to go follow.

i follow blind for many years
fearing the dark, and what lies within.
i lived my life in her restraints
never straying far from light.
i knew nothing of where i had been.
i knew nothing of where i was going.
i new less then when i started.
ALONE
LOST
DEPENDENT

Why did i follow the blind?
my naivety and ignorance are my excuses.
she took me to her truth!
led me to her crusade!
i had no choice but to believe
her agena, her RELIGION,
and the power that light gave!

when i left she asked me, "son
what do you expect to find?"
i had nothing specific to say to her
except my peace of mind.
she told me id be lost forever
the fear inside would kill me.
she said i would not find a way
for she controlled light.
she had power over night and day,
"then why choose dark i ask?"
for i am a blind woman she says
and i want to rise above.
ill create the fear, and the guiding light
they have no choice, and out of fright
they will follow as you have.
they wont question "WHY?"
and when they do ill be ready with reply:
"have FAITH my children, follow me,
ill lead you to MY salvation,
and if you stray off the path
the darkness leads you to damnation."

Now i control my darkness,
and i do confess:
its harder to create my own ideas,
but its MY problem I address.
I control MY future
I AM MY past
unless I think for MYself
darkness will always last.

Poetry is much like a great photo, a single "moment in time" capturing many feelings and emotions. Yet, they are very alive; creating stirrings within the readers who form visual "pictures" of the expressed emotions within the Poem. ©
