If long ago the star has died
then why do I yet see its light
there among a million points
and shining brightly in the night?
You are still my sacred beacon
I will not believe you're gone
ever guide me through the darkness
lead me safely to the dawn.
In the quiet I sense your presence
glowing warmth seems oh so near
and I listen to the silence
as if perchance this fool might hear
whispered words of reassurance
" I would never leave your side
Faith my dear, a little longer
and I will dry each tear you've cried "...
Ever guide me through the darkness
lead me safely to the dawn
You are still my sacred beacon
I will not believe you're gone
There among a million points
and shining brightly in the night
if long ago the star has died
then why do I yet see its light?

Seems like the darkness with the stars and moon is calling us all of late. This is dreamy, softly spoken and the stars look on.
Beautiful......

I can slip into this and mourn right along side you, so well have you expressed yourself.
I truly think that as each person touches us in our lives whether thay are passed or just gone for now, they leave a part of themselves with us. I will always cherish that.
Thanks for the diffrent view. |

Cast as a prayer, an insight, a hope to understand for the problem lies in us...
I really liked this and it made me remember a play on a child's rhyme devised by Anonymous:
"Twinkle Twinkle little star I no longer wonder what you are for by spectroscopic ken I know you are made of Hydrogen"
Well Done
Peace

The poem strikes me as a cosmic metaphor to depict a loving and intimate connection. The beacon of light is perhaps your spiritual liason....
Well done,

This is great as always. It seems to be without a flaw; or maybe I'm just blind to them...can't wait to see what will come next.

This is beautiful. What lives in us will never die, all that light illuminated will always remind us of the light.

Hear, hear! I get the sentiment expressed herein perfectly. Something well worth saying, and reading (and saying again, and reading again).
Bravo.

Interesting perspective, Larry. The stars have captivated me many a night. Laughed at me, too. I love the lines about the dead stars still giving off their light...star light...star bright....
Lovely as always, my friend.

Oh my dearest Larry ~
Such a sadness and longing in this, but there is so much
more to love about this piece than the sentiments and
emotion you always seem to easily evoke in me.
I adore how you took the last stanza and rearranged it
to mirror the first. Love that. It somehow makes the piece
even more dramatic and powerful.
This was impossibly romantic, though very, very sad.
daisies for you, my friend, because they are the "cheering
up flower" [they are too HAPPY to be sad. :)]
~Breezy
