Somber Come Day
By Fernando Castillo
I had reached the top of the mountain
Obstacles were all behind me as I stood at the summit
Yet I could not believe that I had done what I thought was impossible
I was free, free to live my life
Everyday I gazed at the setting sun, as another day ended in bliss
O God, how those days of joy I truly miss
Today, ends in somber, the sun is gone
And the moon with its ominous glow
Casting a deadpan shadow on my face
I shut my eyes to escape what has become my pragmatic reality
No use, forever conscious
Vicariously I live as I watch the whole world see me die.

I really liked this,
today ends in somber, the sun is gone....
one of my favorite lines. Emotive write.
