Love and The Lady Spy

Contributed by tejas9999 on Tuesday, 16th January 2007 @ 01:50:48 AM in AEST
Topic: fictional

The night slept alone
A thousand rivers cried
She couldn’t help it
No matter how much she tried

Love is all around us
But this one had to die
Falling in love was a sin
Because she was a Spy

She had looks that could kill
She was ready to die
She had a country to serve
She had secrets to buy

He slept like a baby
On the floor’s mat
She moved slowly towards him
Just like a silent cat

A stiletto in her hand
Ready to annihilate
She looked at him
And decided his fate

She bent forward and kissed
He smiled in his sleep
A shiver ran down her spine
And crept in deep

She covered his mouth
To suppress his scream
There was no movement or refusal
For him it was only a bad dream

He looked naively at her
His eyes glowing in love
She was supposed to kill him
And raised the stiletto above

She brought the stiletto down
But a blunder did she make
Looking into his blue eyes
Felt his love was not fake

She dropped the weapon
And kissed his smile
She kept her head on his shoulder
And rest there for a while

All of a sudden she got up
With the stiletto in her hold
She slit his throat apart
A move so swift and cold

She smiled at her fate
She was a perfect spy
Not meant to fall in love
But certainly trained to lie

Poetry is much like a great photo, a single "moment in time" capturing many feelings and emotions. Yet, they are very alive; creating stirrings within the readers who form visual "pictures" of the expressed emotions within the Poem. ©
