His Rainbow Rose

Contributed by NoSaint on Monday, 15th January 2007 @ 08:42:51 AM in AEST
Topic: MiscPoems

Her beauty was beyond compare
Auburn with gold streaked hair
As she worked in her garden her eyes true
One emerald green the other sapphire blue

Her flowers she tended with loving care
He knew he could always find her there
His Rainbow Rose is what he called her
He knew his heart belonged to no other

Rare was her spirit and beauty fair
He thought she would always be there
But illness her body claimed
No one could be blamed

His heart now empty full of gloom
He walked to the garden to look at the blooms
All the roses were now shriveled and old
Except for one rose the colors of the rainbow

A sadness but so much energy given to cultivation that the one outstanding fruit of her labors brings back all the years of loving beauty...

Well Done

Peace
Yang

I can tell that love was in the poets heart. I also know that peace was given from the beyond by that one rainbow rose. Healing the wounds of the now alone lover. Good poem

Bittersweet, Shari. Left me teary eyed.
Peace and hugs,
Laura

This poem is bittersweet. I really like
the way you describe physical attributes,
you make them all sound so beautiful.
Excellent write!

I don't mean to bo with the flow...but it's very bittersweet! I loved this one primarily due to the emotions, and being that I know how hard it is to lose someone. But, alas, there is always a comfort zone in life...in here, that one rainbow rose. Awesome job!

Another great write, but oh so sad. I can imagine him walking in the garden, tears in his eyes, until he sees the rainbow roses. Very good work yet again, keep it up!
