Crystal Roses

Contributed by NoSaint on Monday, 15th January 2007 @ 08:40:02 AM in AEST
Topic: StoryPoetry

From her tower high she watched
The dragon fly overhead
Knowing her love might die
Trying to rescue her from its grasp

Crystal was the towers walls
High on a mountain
Overlooking the ocean
With every tear she cried

A crystal rose would form below
Would her love know the truth?
Of the roses clear and pure
For only they could pierce

The dragons armor strong
For of love they were bound
Many knights and princes
Tried to free the princess fair

They could not see with their hearts
The truth of the roses crystal power
Until an odd little man came along
With a heart so very true

Not much to look at was he
Small of stature and scarred
From life’s struggles
But he felt with his heart

And pieced the dragons armor
With the roses and his loving nature
The princess saw with her heart
This man handsome beyond compare

For his spirit was that of one pure
A love for all creatures of the earth
So she spent her life happily
With her love so true

No more to shed tears
Of
Crystal Roses

A good mystical symbolism of love and finding love . Nicely done

This poem reminds me of medieval
lore. Excellent use of imagery. The
story in this poem is really touching.
Great write!

If only people today would look inside people before they make opinions of them, not just take in their looks and judge right off the bat.

Good work, I really enjoyed reading this one, can't wait for the next.

You take into the time and mind of when now myths filled the skies and such jewels procured as to shed tears of crystal roses. How delicious.

Bravo

Peace
