Can We Deny?

Contributed by NoSaint on Sunday, 14th January 2007 @ 07:17:03 AM in AEST
Topic: Lifepoems

Ever passing by, looking away
Maybe for a moment we should stay
To hear the tale of how this came to be
And then just maybe we would see

We are not different from those in need
And most likely they could use a good deed
To help them move up a step to two
Would you not want that done for you?

The sun and rain is for them also
For their delight the stars put on a show
Flowers spring up in cracks of sidewalks
To them the birds sing and talk

Nature knows they are worth much more
And they don’t walk past looking sore
For some of these people just need a smile
So they can walk that extra mile

Many did not choose their plight
A young mother doing what was right
To remove her children from abusive home
Now on the streets she has to roam

Or the teen that was raped by family
Should we just let her be?
Or help take a stand and change her life
Taking away the pain and daily strife

A veteran of an unwanted war
Mentally left with a deep scar
Every loud noise brings back trauma
Can you help to ease his drama?

Each face a story tells
Past pains some dwell
Each special in God’s eyes
Their worth can we deny?

Inspiration to think & feel:

"...Each special in God’s eyes
Their worth can we deny"

Truly heartfelt and expressed with excellence.

May this 'hot potato' make its way to congress & the White House.

Well Done

Peace

((((((Shari))))) Thank you for this, sis. My eyes are full of tears. This was touching as hec to my soul. If we all did just a little, maybe we could end this horrid thing and homelessness would be a word from the by gone eras. Thanks for sharing
*hugs you tight*
Peace, Laura
