Give Back

Contributed by Alex23 on Sunday, 14th January 2007 @ 02:38:30 AM in AEST
Topic: selfstruggles

It's not okay to want.
While many get to sleep,
others are buslting, hustling,
slaving for life's waste heap.

Give back.

Too many people don't understand.
They live life like they spend.
We have others bumbling, stumbling,
working, working, and working life until the end.

Give back.

Society today, it can be bad.
We have babies out there with flies on their cheeks.
Many are blind to this, as their life is too "important."
Not all have all the time in the world, many not even days or weeks.

Give back.

The gap here is growing.
Yes, we have a middle, but it probably takes two.
I'm tired of seeing the difference, seeing the fortunate wanting.
Sure, it might not matter in the end, but payment is way past due.

Give back.

We need to extend a hand.
There is a gap here too, and it too is growing.
The Sunday Mass collection isn't enough.
Be it with wealth or service, help is what needs to get going.

Give back.

Wow, I swear me and you have the same thoughts or something! ;) lol I try and get my friends and family into giving back, but they are never into it. Darn them. I wish I had someone here that I could do it with. I've been trying to find some sort of group or something I could join, so we can all go do something good for the enviroment. I hate watching it be destroyed.

dude thats cool man, not many people think and feel that way ..... i actually think that the best way to give back is giving back in kind .....like food, clothes and the like rather than money ..... i have seen many people squander the monetary gifts given to them on drugs, booze and other useless things ..... good write man

Wise words ...we could make a change if we are just willing to give back some of the abundance we are graced with or share our time and talents

I've been inspired by my fair share of music, too.

This could easily be developed into a song itself, which I don't have the mind to write, so nice work on that.

I don't have much to comment on - the message is presented clearly and the structure doesn't lend itself to any real criticism on my part.

Good work. :)

Great message and very discriptive. The gap is growing...I feel helpless and sad. Your write reflects my feelings well as I suppose they will to all who read it.

So, first off, this is a good write. Secondly I've noticed that your poems seem to have a sort of lesson in them, a bit of wisdom, and for that I applaud you.
