We were innocent, careless, and young
When my grandma told us this story
* * * * *
In the dark virgin forest
Was a tree hidden
Anybody who has seen this tree
Live their lives problem free
Nothing is magical about this tree
Except is its name
The Tree of Hope is it called
Huge iron fence around it walled
Those who possess that magic
That magical painful blood
Painful blood in their heart and vein
Who cannot live anymore to bear the pain
So my dear little angels
Whenever life is hard
Hard enough to breathe and survive
Go find this tree; it’s a Hope’s hive
* * * * *
Standing at the end of the cliff
Ready to jump and end the pain
This was the only way to heaven
And I didn’t want to miss this last train
A cool soothing breeze hit my face
Gave me a moment wanting to live
This was the time that I recalled the tree
Whose only duty was a new life to give
I thought about it for an instant
Why not give this a try
If even this doesn’t work out
The only thing I have to do is die
* * * * *
The forest wasn’t as inspiring as thought
Pitch blackness had annihilated the light
I wondered how I could survive it
The death’s force and its might
Suddenly had Goosebumps all over my body
For even in the darkness, visible it was
The iron fence fifty feet tall
The only source of light it was
I increased my pace
A smile on my face
I ran towards my life
My children and my wife
The wall seemed to reduce height
As near as I went to it
My heart beating at a furious pace
All I wanted to was go near and sit
I stood in front of that tree
With awe and fascination
This must be heaven I thought
My life’s destination
The trunk of the tree
Was the only thing I could see
A bright beam of light fell
Right where it’s supposed to be
I sat right under the tree
Like being Buddha it felt
Looking up I saw the light’s source
And all my problems started to melt
A huge gap between the leaves
Made way for light to this Hope’s Hive
And then I clicked to me
And was glad to be alive
The tree was born in this forest
A forest as dark as anything could be
It was Hope that kept it alive
For the light it wanted to see
It kept on growing with a sigh
Keeping its head high
To see the impossible light
And defeat the darkness’s might
And with hope it grew
Till the day of success
When the light fell on it
Relieving it of all the stress
If in a thousand miles of eternal darkness
A tree can Hope for light
And find it one day
And win the fight
Why can’t we Humans do that?
Hope for happiness on the worst days
Fight for it with Hope
Until forever it stays
