Peeling away the roughness of life,
Trying to get to the soft and caring part,
Peeling away the layers,
Looking through time,
Looking at life from all angles;
Feeling old memories peel away:
Forgetting the laughing times at the bowling alley,
Times in the woods with my cousins,
Fun times dancing in a club with my sister,
Time I almost died,
Time my dad walked out on me,
Time my grandma yelled at me endlessly,
That i was fat and wasting my talents
Making new memories:
Driving my friends to the mall or out to eat,
Hanging out after school,
Being spontaneous and talking to new people,
People who I've never talked with.
Getting along with everyone I can,
Learning from their
Mistakes,
Needs,
Wants,
Friendships,
Relationships;
Looking back on old times with old friends:
Kelly's Island on a sinking boat,
With you at Kelly's Island
As a stalker followed us,
At the bonfire together,
At homecoming together freshman year;
Spending time with new friends:
Eating out together,
Running around Toys R Us,
Searching for a toy for my niece for Christmas,
Throwing a ball around and laughing together,
Taking pictures in my car,
Trying to get the perfect one;
Feeling all my emotions peel away.
You're back,
Taking away my relationship with Mom.
I don't know what to do anymore,
But wait 'till that layer is gone,
And you fade away.
As i am stripped of my
Pride,
Dignity,
Pain,
Depression,
As all of me and my layers peel away with time.
