The Three Wishes

Contributed by tejas9999 on Friday, 12th January 2007 @ 12:24:24 AM in AEST
Topic: HumorPoetry

Joseph was twenty years old

But was a very lazy man

Who never did any work

But always slept under the fan

One day strolling on the beach

He found a funny looking pot

Though as ghastly as it looked

He would give, selling it, a shot

He went to four black markets

And showed it to second-hand sellers

‘Nothing this ugly could be sold’

They told him like fortune-tellers

Empty stomach he went to his hut

Thinking of cleaning the ugly pot

He poured some water on it

And kept it on a stove until it was hot

A flash of green light swooshed

‘Ouch!’ howled an unknown voice

A male Genie shot-up in the air

Whining about the hut being full of mice

‘You have three wishes, Master’

The Genie with the funny beard said

‘You can ask anything you want

Apart from wanting somebody dead’

To happy to think, Joseph said

‘I want to be the richest man ever

Want only beautiful women around me

And want to stay alive forever’

‘Your wish is my command!’

Genie said with a mischievous smile

He was going to laugh at this for centuries

On the wish he would fulfill in a while

A flash of green light swooshed

And on his butt did Joseph fall

Twenty beautiful women around him

For a second, he was having a ball

This place was the planet Yin

Only beautiful women lived here

He was going to live a great life

Without any hesitance or fear

Their Queen came forward and said

‘I would like to give you a choice

Give us diamonds or be our slave’

‘Alright’ he said in a romantic voice

He searched for his promised wealth

Looked everywhere but found none

‘Holy Hell! The Genie duped me’

Joseph said in a heart-rending tone

The Genie laughed floating above

‘No master!’ thunderously he said

‘I gave what you asked for, master

Not ever will you, by God, be dead!’

The Genie tossed him a bronze coin

‘You are the richest man now

By far the only man on this planet

So stop complaining and take a bow’

‘And what about these women?

Didn’t you mention them in your wish?

So now what Lazy man?

The turkey’s too big for your dish?’

‘So I’ll get going now, master

I’m on a vacation for life

You got what you asked for

Now I have to attend my kids and wife’

Joseph lived forever and ever

Serving women and being their slave

With only a single coin in his bag

He could do nothing but behave
