True Blue God- for the people involved in the Bali Bombing tragedy

Contributed by CowgirlKid on Thursday, 20th February 2003 @ 04:20:00 PM in AEST
Topic: Tributes

"Only recent she's got busy"
Said God to Pete the saint,
The queue was packed for miles on end,
Starting at the pearly gate.

"It's strange, you know"
Said God to Pete, "Not normally this packed
The queue goes on for miles on end
Can't even see the back"

And as he hobbled to the gate,
For time had taken toll,
He stood up proud, stroked his beard
And read right from his scroll.

"Now listen up", God declared,
"I wanna pass this line
But only the best of best of you
Through these pearly gates of mine

Now for a start, the first to pass,
The ones who get in free,
All pass go, all collect,
All who are Aussie

For Aussies are the truthful,
The larrakin, the mate,
The good ol' party goers
You walk straight through my gate.

Bring you beer, your surf boards,
Your horse and your guitar,
You Aussies bring your footies too,
The best of sports by far.

The true blues are the best of blokes,
The best of sheila's too.
You've proved yourselves man times before,
Your courage pulled you through.

Couragous, loyal, jokers,
Relaxed and full of hope,
That is what makes an Aussie
A top all round type bloke.

Now what you've experienced, all behind
To Bali, no need to look
Come on in, through my gates,
Surf's up, barbeque's cooked.

And do you know why I'm proud to pass
An Aussie through my gate?
It may not have passed your mind,
But I'm also Aussie, mate."

Hello, CowgirlKid. I don't know about the Bali bombing, but with terrorists all over the world, we can all relate. I enjoy hearing the 'Aussie kind of lingo'. Loved the overall message and your poetic skills. Grandma Bizzy

Didn't you hear about the Bali bombing? Wow! We do live in different sides of the world! One year, one month, one day, one hour and one minute after the september 11th tragedy, Bali, a remote and very poplular cheap tourist destination was hit by suicidal car bombers. Many people, Balinese and Australians lost their lives. I can't believe that the world hasn't heard about Australia's misfortune! That is why Australia has joined the war on terrorism! Whilst the world mourns NY, Aust was obviously forgotten.
