Self...

Contributed by misfitme on Thursday, 11th January 2007 @ 10:52:55 PM in AEST
Topic: Lifepoems

That which no logic or reason can own~

although the waking mind often pretends

Our very essence, the place it calls home~

& from which to our dreams itself lends...

While elusive, not illusionary~

limiting itself not to one name

Known differently by each visionary~

yet, seductive muse to all without shame...

Freedom it offers to those who would dare~

remaining a door unopened by others

True intimacy the gift with us shared~

once embraced by this powerful lover...

Self...

You my sister are so right on with this. Gosh I feel it took years (and I still struggle at times) to have the most important relationship and that's the one with myself. When I started loving myself, I became much less self destructive. All of life is a journey to behold but once you love yourself, ahhhh the journey is much sweeter, much kinder. Thanks for the write and for giving me something to ponder on.
Peace and hugs,
Laura

These words are written with the flow of blood straight from the heart:

"...True intimacy the gift with us shared~

once embraced by this powerful lover..."

The face blushes with much wider implications...

Bravo

Peace
AJ

I really dug this, it has been a while since I have heard it. My favorite line though from my favorite segment describing self was: "While elusive, not illusionary" That was cool, and everything after in that part about different visionaries knowing this by another name was really rad.

Wow! this was a punch in the gut. A masterpeice that would sound so unfair
merely call it a poem. Your style is distinguish, i didn't only read this but just lost my self in it. Absolutely splendid.
