Lightning

Contributed by CowgirlKid on Thursday, 20th February 2003 @ 04:20:00 PM in AEST
Topic: Tributes

His looks won't win him money
And his name is not in print,
He won't run past a quarterpole,
No green track will he sprint.

His pirouettes are wonky
And he can't jump all that high,
He's not the best eventer
And cutting- well, don't try!

He's not in any stud book,
A plain old nag is he,
His name is only one word long
But that doesn't bother me.

For Lightning's quite the good ol' sort,
The type that serves us well,
He's just a wee bit grumpy,
But the loyallist of hell.

His name is unexplainable,
He can't run all that quick,
His curly coat's not silky smooth,
And not at all too slick.

He's what we call an opposite,
And opposite's attract.
For many smiles he brings to kids,
Our grumpy, good, ol' chap.

He knows he's got a job to do
And happiness he'll bring
To children who're incapable
Of doing many things.

So in no show ring will you find him,
In no paper will he be.
But come to RDA
And this champion you'll see.
