Sitting all alone in the shadows
Time that passed nobody knows
Watching as the world passes you by
Things happen and nobody knows why
Unable to do anything but stare
Wondering why you have to be there
Watching everything slowly fade
Seeing people killed and betrayed
Watching everything slowly break
Seeing the greedy just take and take
Watching the heartless trick and lie
Seeing the helpless hurt and die
Just sitting there on the side lines
Unable to give any signals or signs
Just watching this unraveling fate
Seeing the world swallowed by hate
The world crumbling before your eyes
Listening to the echoes of screams and cries
Close you eyes tight and try to hide
Lock yourself away and don’t face the war outside
Everything will die even the last rose
Watching it all happen alone in the shadows

wow this is a very powerful and sad piece.. I am sorry to hear about your friend. but your friend will be with you always watching over you.. beautifully written though
