I am sitting on the edge
Waiting for this girl and her kind pledge
Her eyes will light with my soft touch
And to her heart I will clutch
There I rest till the day of dawn
The birth of nature and her fawn
Till the day we can see
I have her word to keep with me
I do hope she sees my mean
To show her all that I have seen
Then we can come to know
Both our hearts to be on show
