Bump in the Night

Contributed by lancaster on Tuesday, 9th January 2007 @ 07:20:28 AM in AEST
Topic: oops

This requires too much energy expended
Go to great lengths to retain what was once here
And if it is recanted, planted, then taken away, played by semantics
Then all that was expected, is exhausted, has been wasted
Which makes it
All the more romantic
More intimate, closeness, in sickness, in healthiness
Provoked or unsolicited, either way-

Its pay day, and overdue appreciation
Concerted efforts to reach a feasible negotiation
Tied up in civil litigation, the jury dances-
In anticipation, of what will come, befall, upon
Once in a pink moon, ever does the blue get outdone
Do the stars ever run?, in the face of a falling comet, a meteor shower,
Shine with pride for hours, until the day overpowers, darkness cowers

Not ours, not theirs, not alone
Property rights, individual privacy, precedence, propriety
Postpartum claim, to the entitlement, the property, the birth right,
Do right, act right, stand-up with height, with all the might,
now, relax your neck, its knotted, way too uptight
Concentrate on the daylight, breaks the shade, from morning to night
Keeps us company, when no one can be found, not a soul in sight
No battle to fight, no end close by, no beginnings to replace,
No memories to erase, just keeps us alone, when everything is,
Just as sour as it tastes- everything is,
In its predetermined place, all the love turns hate-

Wait, bitter sweet in so many ways, cant compete,
With the remedy, the incomplete, symphony,
Of methodical beats, or whispering sheets, hanging by a tight rope
Under the tapping of my feet, inside the chamber,
Where the cold replaces the heat, the cardboard box on the street-
Is not a home for a family of three, for shade, barking up the wrong tree
Cork up the winery, the champagne, the noise,
The turning of the century, empathy, and poise,
Society is drunk-
Debunked myths leap into long jumps
In judgment, clumps of words, bump in turn,
A thump at the door-
A stranger is knocking
To enter this dream

FANTASTIC!

I really enjoyed this one a lot. There is just so much to absorb! Eye-candy for the poet; excellent visuals created through your provoking words --- well done!
