This was written for a challenge on Zorpia, but I hope you like it all the same!!!
This world is my prison
Where the wicked lay deep
Stealing the light and hope
Their darkness begins to seep
Within my veins it lay dormant
Until the poison takes its course
And threatens sweet suicide
From the screaming of my own remorse.
Alone I wonder
Is there any hope at all
Lying, waiting in purgatory
Is there something to catch me as I fall
For in these dark times the only light I see
Are beyond my grasp
Within your arms my hero gone
A shadow from my past
Beyond my mind in my memory you wait
Past the golden arches now decayed
You hope to recover what they have stole
Recover the life they slayed
I would, if I could give myself to you
But you are just a hope, a dream
Teasing, just out of reach
So back to hell it would seem
