Why do you lead me on?
Why do you turn away?
I look in your eyes
And see the sparkle
And then, as sudden as it came
It’s gone again.
Im left looking, peering
Deep into the deep blue
Searching for the sparkle
And what caused it.
Was it me?
Did I see the fire in your heart?
In looking for the fire
I get lost again.
I am lead down the broken road
The jagged edges that tear into my soul.
You say you feel the same,
But what you say,
And what is done,
Two beasts struggling forever.
I never know what I get
The slots beat me everytime.
Three oranges
Or two lemons and a banana.
I hate the way this makes me feel.
The fire burning in my soul
Laps out of my chest
Wanting sweet release.
Bittersweet release,
Sweet to finally tell you.
Bitter not to know if the ears are deaf.
Bittersweet release.
