Lies That Bind us Together

Contributed by misunderstood_gurl on Sunday, 7th January 2007 @ 11:58:23 PM in AEST
Topic: EmotionalPoetry

Lies are the only things

That keep us holding on.

Withered memories of the past,

Help me realize who I'm not.

Don't turn your back,

Don't say goodbye,

I need someone to help me,

To find my way through this lie.

To guide me throught this darkness,

And to keep me from falling.

Walking through this wasteland,

Is never as easy as it seems.

No matter how far you get,

There will always be a new pain,

A new loss, or just another empty vessel

To keep you from moving on.

So I'll hide my scars from the world,

And pretend to be okay.

I only appear normal to the world,

While on the inside,

I'm fighting a constant battle, I can't win.

I've tried to reach out,

But failed at ever attempt.

So please don't turn your back on me.

Please don't say goodbye.

I need someone to help me

To find my way through this lie.

very nicely expressed.. lying never gets you anywhere.. a good way to start is start telling the truth and you won't feel so horrible.. forgive yourself and make amends.. it works wonders.. this is a very well expressed piece on that emotion.. im sure alot of people can relate.. i honestly can't relate because i don't know how to lie
