This is a song I wrote for you to hear
So lean in close as I scream it in your ear
I love you to much to let you go
And I had to let you know
That this time it’s for real
And my heart no other will steal
This is the pick I busted playing that love song I wrote for you
At the gig you were to busy to come to
Ill sign it in ink
And maybe next time you will think
And you will finally see
How much you really mean to me
I wake from the haze
This life of mine has me in a daze
I can’t believe the words that flow from your heart
The rhythm of the course ends at the start
The distance is never too remote
I whisper so softly as I choke
This is the pick I busted playing that love song I wrote for you
At the gig you were to busy to come to
Ill sign it in ink
And maybe next time you will think
And you will finally see
How much you really mean to me
Oh can you help me fast
This will never last
Cause every time I see your face
My mind drifts to space
And I can’t help
Anyone but myself
This is the pick I busted playing that love song I wrote for you
At the gig you were to busy to come to
Ill sign it in ink
Maybe next time you’ll think
And you will finally see
How much you really mean to me

It peeves me no end that this one was overlooked, but I'll comment because it's a beauty. Adolescent cool, with just the right satirical touch to avoid that emo angst. Beautifully layered. I'd buy a whole cd just to here the hook line (yeah, I've been there)
