T'is a Season Dreary!

Where has the joy gone?
Why this veil of grayness?
All the light seems dimmed,
This time of gloom has begun.
Dreariness of life now descends,
With the creep of winter,
So does the bleakness fall,
Depression grips the soul.
Days stretch into nights,
Mornings are such torment,
Nights a welcome reprieve,
The mind is restless and morose.
Seasons of change and growth,
Yet winter erases all,
The peace of spring and summer,
Fail at winter’s approach.
Hold at bay the emptiness,
Acknowledge the lowness of spirit,
Reach out to others for comfort,
Suffer not alone, this season’s sorrow.

Alas, winter’s visit often brings depression and dismay to many. Through careful connections between nature and sadness, you paint a very vivid scene of your gloomy emotions. My hope is that these feelings pass, and you are able to embrace the beauty of winter. Best of wishes, and beautiful write! |
