This Vampiric Addiction

A trace of glee in a lifetime of sin
Had begged the tale of where we begin.
The start was here, in the rustic town
Where simple men had lived and drowned
Their sorrows away with the emerald wine
And quickly fell into steep decline.
With work and kin found next to last
In new orders and pacts, former cults of the past.
A boyhood in fugue of lost memories found
Although I sought to escape, I was eternally bound
By the memories served by my childhood years
To the future incurred by elegant seers.
At the young age of six, I saw carnivorous licks,
Carnal beasts of the devils own kind.
When I saw the blood that they drew I instantly knew
That my heart would forever be blind.
The un-ending nights of the Vampiric sights
Intrigued and encouraged my faith.
Rank lands bereft of a stylish theft
Given haunts of the countess’ wraith.
Gravestones upheld but quickly withdrawn
By the hearts of the saints and the Jezebel born.
Kin of their mother, offspring of the sin,
Tyrannical phantoms wrought from within.
To taste the sweetness of a false divine,
Of devils red and crimson wine.
The life-force feeding the constant thirst.
Find and feed, to hunger first.
This all began with the wormwood drink.
From emerald hue to crimson bleak.
But I, myself, are of partial mind
To darkness and my carnal kind.

I see a lot of things in here that might be symbols but just be me overanalyzing. Assuming it was all purposeful, this was like a puzzle you just feel so proud to finish. |
