They say friendship lasts forever
And I know now that it's true
And I think about this everytime
I share a laugh with you
This bond can not be broken
As much as one may think
Despite some fights in between
This is an everlasting link
So many things have happened
As the years have flown on by
We've laughed, we've fought, we've been there
Used each others shoulders when we cried
I know that I have yelled at you
I know that sometimes, I may scream
But even after all of that
Our friendship always seems to gleam
I know I'll never forget you
Even if we seperate over time
Because friendships are everlasting
I'm always yours, and you're always mine

I wish I would have seen this two weeks ago. My best friend of about ten years and argued and ended our joined-at-the-hip friendship. We were supposed to be forever.. I don't know what happened.
But this poem, ironically, reminds me that nothing lasts forever. |
