I held you close to me
Hugged you where they can see
The tears you shed when we met
The memory is all I have left
I cannot be there for you
You father won’t allow it
I know, you poor thing
Life is a bag of *****
You said I missed you growing
I told you it was my choice
I never lied to you that day
You won’t ever see me again
There is so much you don’t understand
The life I live is not stable
I saw you rejected and hated
You sit there alone at the table
You cannot knock on my door
I am not two streets away
Keep sitting on that floor
Keep the hatred you have at bay
