  Social

Policies Of Poverty

Contributed by Epic on Thursday, 4th January 2007 @ 05:58:44 PM in AEST
Topic: political

The need to spend

Has grown to an all time high

Government goods

And rapid supply

When consumer needs

Are all we want

Will it really make this

world any better?

When society offers nothing

In return for those unfortunate

How will we over come

This double blind recession?

How will we over look

This economy of destruction?

To think as a hole

Would be so much better

Individuals have grown

To think of no other

The poor are left on the streets

To forge and squander

For food and a new way of life

How did this happened?

People left alone to believe

That there the trash of society

That there the waste that

People speak of

I refuse to allow myself

To fall in between these cracks

I wish to choose a greater path

To help the forgotten few

And bring an age of awareness

Bring to knowledge

That the poor are here

Beneath the floor boards of

These economist

Who refuse to allow everyone

To succeed

We live in a nation

Far greater than any other

But yet we still allow are people

To suffer

In the alley ways

The ditches and drains

Live a life

we would never think of

This is reality

And we must see

That there are people suffering

Living lives so destructive

Filled with hate and pain

War paths leading to death

I've seen this heart ach

I've witnessed it

From my very own eyes

I've tasted the grotesque

Flavors of poverty

I've held back the tears

Of sorrow

Had my family hide

From land lords

Dumpster dived

In to pools of filth

Become the scavengers

For the evil

They call money

Poverty is something

So disgusting

It leaves you with a feeling

Of starvation

With a hint of sickening

It's something

No one should feel

It's something

No one should suffer

So what do you say

Brothers and sisters?

Lets us join hands

To tear down these

Walls of destruction

And bring to

The less fortunate

A helping hand

To lift there spirits

And moral

Bring forth

The ideals of the wise

And maybe just maybe

Create a Eden

Far greater than

Any other could imagine

Make others aware

Of the situations

Occurring ever day

Around them

And promote

The path of righteousness

You speak of something that should never be in this world. I have seen people take food from trashcans right here in the US. The richest country in the world. There is definitely something wrong with that situation. We should be fighting different wars then the one in Iraq. Good write.
Peace and hugs,
Laura
