Soap Bubbles

Through the darkest hours
words reached through
to calm and comfort.
Like a child’s soap bubble
you gently blew
the hope towards me.
I watched it grow,
glistening
in its rainbow of colors
until it was all
I could see before me
bobbing, dancing, twirling
in the gentle breeze of uncertainty.
I allowed it
to fill my heart,
to lift me up a hundred miles
and I laughed with the joy.
Through the rainbow colors
swirling before my eyes,
I could see your words coming.
My bubble of hope
was not enough to shield me
from your message of reality.
With the deafening pop
still ringing through my soul,
I crashed back into the darkness.

I like how you creatively put this into words.. sometimes everyone can lose hope at a bad point in their lives. but we must keep that lil bit of hope in order to carry on.. I really liked the wording used in this piece great job

interesting write. must admit the title made me think of my granddaughter watching some bubbles just the other day. so that inspired me to write a poem about her. thanks! as for the crashing and despair you speak of, remember in every dark place there is a light leading the way out. |
