Near Year's Resolutions

Contributed by mohan on Sunday, 31st December 2006 @ 05:09:21 AM in AEST
Topic: oops

Let us happily welcome this New Year,
Hope it will bring all of us lasting cheer.
Together let us strive with renewed vigour,
To eliminate terrorism and violence for ever.

Exhort the egocentric state leaders to end wars,
That cause, misery, death and destruction, alas.
Wars are no solution to vexatious issues, alarming,
Amicable settlement is the sensible way of solving.

Let us resolve to build a new world, stronger,
Removing social inequality, disease and hunger.
Let ennobling virtues be our guiding force,
And discipline in all walks life, let us enforce.

Let us hold our Mother-Nature in deep veneration,
For sustaining all forms of life with utmost devotion.
Pray that she be kind to us and never to be enraged,
To unleash dreadful Tsunamis, that terribly ravaged.

Break physical barriers; sink all our differences, plenty,
To unite as one community, to serve suffering humanity,
With mutual love and compassion for fellow human beings,
To make our planet Earth a happy home, with God’s blessings.

A encouraging write and a nice place to start. May we all unite in this quest for a lasting love and peace with and for all people and our earth.

Happy New Year

Michelle

Poetry is much like a great photo, a single "moment in time" capturing many feelings and emotions. Yet, they are very alive; creating stirrings within the readers who form visual "pictures" of the expressed emotions within the Poem. ©
