This man is a cowboy, lives on the range,
Has the kind of lifestyle some think is strange,
But I believe it suits him, like hand to glove,
And this man has no fear bout talking of love,
His friendship is to all that he meets,
No hidden agenda, this guy is so sweet,
He is my cowboy buddy, my poet, my friend,
I would be lost if our friendship should end,
He talks of religion, the brotherhood of man,
He is peace and tranquility, he will help if he can,
He spreads his word , in his community too,
He gives hope to the fallen, he can help you,
And finally our Ken, he writes with such grace,
His words can bring tears or smiles to our face,
He can also bring laughter, with his humour so catching,
And while we read them , another poem he is hatching,
So dear Ken this poem is dedicated to you,
I hope you understand its meaning so true,
For what would life be, with no words of the poet,
Thank goodness for Ken Moore, and don't we all know it.

Great Job! We should all raise our glass in good cheer...

To those who roam the skies & those who roam the earth...
To all good men of reason may they never thirst..." ~G.Lightfoot

I am touched with that "aw shucks" kinda feeling when reading my British buddy's words in this piece. I've been on this site not quite a year and Sue, with her warmth, intimate honesty and usually lighthearted presence became one of my favoritest folks to read and interact with. I told her so when we first started interacting and I also told her I was gonna write a poem about her. It's not quite finished yet but I'm puttin' it on the front burner now! Sue, with a brother's love, I love you and thank you for this gesture of what you're all about! Dang y' all fer givin' me a pretty high thing to continue to live up to, though. I'll do my best.

It is a true pleasure to know Ken, My Cow boy Friend - A poet with a unique ability to mesmerize the reader with his enchanting western vocabulary and themes.
As a fellow poet you have done justice, Thank you and congrats for this wonderful poem dedicated to a wonderful man and a good friend not only to me but to the entire YPDC family.

Your poem is cute, JerseySue, but I am sorry you and everyone else here has been fooled by Ken Moore. He is a fake and a phoney. I know you won't believe me because you don't know me, but he is a liar and he steals from his own family. A lot of his poems are against government and politics, but it's our very government that supports him because, even though he is very capable of doing so, he refuses to work. He lives off his wife's disability check and before that her father's social security check. He expounds about virtue and honor, yet in reality he has none. I know you think I am wrong, but just loan, or actually give because no matter what he says he will never repay a penny of it, him $20 and I guarantee you will never see it again. Give him $200 and he will become your worst enemy. Invite him into your home and provide him with comforts he is unaccustomed to and he will abuse the privilege and insult you in front of your friends. He left his wife alone for almost 3 months in the mountains with no heat, no electricity, no running water, and no transportation while he sat in our home with every comfort imaginable. What kind of "man" does that? Ask yourself what do I have to gain by exposing Ken, nothing, other than the opportunity to expose the truth. He will answer for what he has done one of these days. |
