Trust Destroyed

Weeping, sobbing in the night,
Heart is crushed and broken,
Stepped upon for another’s delight,
Words of sorrow are merely tokens.
Shaken and weary to the core,
Seeking the strength to go on,
Seeming calmness shall be worn,
Taking comfort as on loan.
The hurt and pain is not so hard,
T’is the lie that pierced the heart,
Words spoken in trust are now marred,
None were true, not even at the start.
How can one be so bold?
To purposefully render harm,
To seek the pain of another’s hold,
Betray another with one’s charm.
Crying, raging against the lies,
Questioning the wisdom to be gained,
Tears streaming from the eyes,
Was it worth the pain?

To be betrayed by a lie really does hurt our hearts. Sometimes to the point of almost breaking. I do soooo relate to this. Tender write and written well. I am sorry to learn the sad news of your aunt.
