I stand here looking at you.
You stand over there with all your preppy friends.
You don’t even notice me
You never will again
I stare at you until my heart can no longer bear it
My eyes begin to fill
With the sorrow of my heart
Knowing you used to be like me
An unknown loser
But now you stand there with all your preppy friends
I should have told you then those three little words
I’ve bit my tongue until it bled
I cry all night long while I’m laying in bed
I should have told you then
Those three little words
Now it’s too late
You don’t even notice me now
I refused to be a prep
So now I’m stuck without you
Finally you give me a glance
Amazingly you see my tears
You leave your preppy friends
And walk right over to me
You give me a hug and whisper in my ear “I’m sorry”
We stand there for a while with my tears running down my face
He looks me in the eyes and says
“I’m so sorry I didn’t tell you before but I love you and always will”
I lay my head upon his shoulder and cry my tears
Those preps begin to call his name
He takes me over with him and says
“This is my girl friend everyone”
words I’ll never forget
All those preps treat me like *****
But it doesn’t matter because those aren’t his preppy friends
It’s how it used to be
Now I say those three little words everyday
And I’ll never regret what happened one bit
Those three little words “I love you”
mean everything to me
When they come from his soft lips
