As the world around me fades
I am left with nothing
Where did all the time go that I wasted?
Perhaps I should have cared a little more
That way you would not have left me
Broken, shattered on the floor I weep for you
Was it the things I said?
The things I did?
If I could, I would take it all back
So that you would be by my side forever
I used to say that I was not afraid to die
But now I realize that I fear death more than anything in the world
Because you will not be by my side when that last gasp of air escapes my lungs
I know that we will not be together to watch each other grow old
The road that we walked together has faded into the monochrome mist
Yet I still walk the shrouded path alone
When you left me, the last words on your lips were, "We will meet again when the time is right. Always believe that I am still with you."
I am left to ponder if the promises we made to each other were all for naught
But then I remember all the smiles, the laughs, and all the wonderful times we spent together
I still had so much to say to you, to share with you when you were taken away from me
Yet I know that when we are reunited in the heavenly sky
I will make the angels cry
When I say
"I love you"

Very good job. A lot of ppl can relate to this poem. love and the loss of it, are so strong and the idea of dying with either makes them even stronger.
Deff a good write.
