The First Time I Fell

Contributed by Ruby2sdy on Thursday, 21st December 2006 @ 02:30:50 PM in AEST
Topic: LoveRemembered

A glut of emotion breaks in my voice,
Love was a burden; never my choice,
You were the cross, and one I still bear,
When the weather is rough, or skies blue and fair,
A bolt round my ankle, a chain round my neck,
A gibbering, shivering, complete nervous wreck,
You left me alone, in the dark at night,
Didn’t care that the choices weren’t right,
You never asked, why I was acting strange,
You just took stock, and noticed the change.
I never fell so easily,
As I did that first time you looked at me,
The moonlight was glowing a ghostly white,
No one had ever held me so tight,
And then it was over, in the blink of an eye,
You didn’t say why, you just said goodbye,
To this day I still look out,
And wonder what the end was about,
Why you left me; so led astray,
Why you couldn’t, or wouldn’t stay.

Stupid isn't it? I'll never udnerstand how people can just through precious things away. I just don't get it. How can anyone take love for granted.

A great write as always, Tuesday. I love how you write and how you always make me think.

*hugs*
