The Weather Outside is Frightful

Where eyes freeze
in seconds
and ice shards cut
through every cell
its cold
much less than zero
as heart heat is lost
in an instant decompressed,
one must always be protected
when walking in space.
Heavens medium
a hard vacuum
where fires are slowly dying
terrain to old radiation
fabric in which the hottest
furnaces burn,
boiling wind currents
through cosmic ocean.
See spots run in 11 year cycles
And since we've no place to go
blasts of such force
slam in to earths shields,
core magnetics re-routing,
into colorful sheets
often seen as wavering lights...
The forecast:
continued showers,
But as long as you love me so
just let it be known
your umbrella
is simply the ability
to ignore accordingly.
Spacesounds
and Seti @ Home. An ambitious project for every computer user.

Yang, once again you take me on a journey through some distant fantastical imaginary place, that stemmed from what really exists, when I read your work. Brilliant write! Thanks for posting and cheers to new years, new smiles and new tears!

Ah, something about this just made me laugh, in a very good way. I really enjoyed the little laugh I received from reading this it was really cool. I think between seeing the spots run the 11 year cycles, blasts of force with colorful sheets, seeing wavering lights, and umbrellas being equal in size to the ability to ignore I am just thrilled with this write.

There seems to be an awful lot of metaphoric value in this piece, (and in what work of yours I've read to date), and I find I like that abstract quality quite a bit... I may not know exactly what you're trying to convey in each piece, but I do see a common thread (perhaps 'cause I often do the same...?), you may start off a poem thinking of a particular subject to get off your chest, so to speak, but then tie it in with something else, something closer to home, if you will... Which is like a gift inside a gift; wrapped up in mystery! I love it.
