In the land of opportunity
In the land they call pure and rare
I am a slave to my own life?
No one to blame is that unfair?
Never had no Good luck
I’ve worked for every buck
Never had a chance to shine
I get dragged down every time
I am an inspiration to many people
For my courage and for my strength
So they say I help them accomplish
Life threw their struggle and pain
I work that little bit harder
Just to eat and to survive
I struggle that little bit harder
To break threw my children’s smile
I once had everything I could wish for
But it was sadly taken away
I had a life, family and fortune
Now I barley can survive a day
How life may treat some people
How life may bring you gifts
How life is what you make of it
So they say but it’s not what it seems
So ill just work that little bit harder
I may not ever regain my life
Dear lord I pray to you
Don’t make me a slave until I die
