should have known

Contributed by maybella on Wednesday, 19th February 2003 @ 03:20:00 PM in AEST
Topic: SongLyrics

so you left me alone
you said i would be alright
just don't answer the phone
i'll be back sometime tonight
i trusted your words
put my life in your hands
you said that i was your girl
what don't you understand?
what don't you understand?
why don't you understand?

if i could get inside your head
maybe hear what you were thinking
if i could get into your bed
maybe stop my heart from sinking
i could make you realize that its easy to see
everything before you is all thats in me
and its all that you need
but you lied, you lied you lied
to me

and i sat by your bed
awake all through the night
waiting like you said
but never saw you in sight
forced away the tears
because i have to be strong
disregard all my fears,
should have known it all along
should have known it all along
why didn't i see it all along?

if i could only step away
free my mind of all the pain
if i could just forget today
and pretend i am not insane
maybe i'd grow strong enough to push you aside
cuz i know i've waited long enough just to be unsatisfied
and you just watched as i cried
did you watch me, did you watch me
as i died?
