Seasons pass

Contributed by The_View on Thursday, 14th December 2006 @ 10:46:57 PM in AEST
Topic: Lifepoems

Born not knowing what awaits ahead
Excited at what the world offers
Thrown into the fray unarmed
A dawning day, swept up by the wind

Things happen so fast you can’t comprehend the motions around you
Your heart skips a beat
There’s the girl of your dreams walking away
Then you don’t seem to care

Looking for God half-heartedly
Only to get frustrated at the world
Reading about people you’d love to meet
But they’re just a fiction you can never have

Tears streaming down your face
Pool of fears you won’t admit
Stars in the sky make you wonder
Restless soul that can’t be tamed

As the fire dwindles all your problems seem to pile up
Overwhelming you
Feeling cold, falling to the earth
Wrapped in an embrace that doesn’t hurt
Darkness covers light, life doesn’t seem so bad

Watching the seasons pass by, no longer young
A speech full of regrets on an empty stage
All the things you used to know are gone
Left standing alone in a world you can’t understand
