Alive When Red

Contributed by Teusday-Moon on Thursday, 14th December 2006 @ 08:35:24 PM in AEST
Topic: EmotionalPoetry

To these wrists of mine, what have I done
I have drained from them so much blood

Once they were so full of life
Working hard and quick
But after years of drawing with a knife
They have become weak, scarred, and sick

To these arms of mine, what have I done
I have drained from them so much blood

A time ago the sun enveloped them with warmth
But my long sleeves have long since blocked the rays of hope
And with this sadness I will never cope

To all my loved ones, what have I done
I have drained from them all their love

They used to trust me before
And I was a comfort to their soul
But no one approves of me anymore
So I spend my time behind closed doors

To this heart of mine, what have I done
I have drained from it so much love

Once I felt so full of life
Satisfied with the beating of my heart
But this heart soon gave out and died
And so I cut to feel alive

I laugh instead of cut so even the stupidest joke gets a chuckle..some find it annoying and others sometimes want to take me to the emergency room cause I cant stop cracking up. Many agree I need a diagnosis but I flip them off and tell them to stick it.

One thing though, as cutting as my humor is, it heals quicker than slicing my skin.

Peace
Yang

Poetry is much like a great photo, a single "moment in time" capturing many feelings and emotions. Yet, they are very alive; creating stirrings within the readers who form visual "pictures" of the expressed emotions within the Poem. ©
