You promised that you'd never hurt me
Now I cry myself to sleep
You asked if you could keep me forever
But it's you who've left me alone
You said that you loved me
And now I don't even compare to your other love

Why would you hurt me so
What made me so undesirable
Why is she so perfect
How could you do this to me

You say that you meant the things that you said
--When you said them
But what about now
As I'm left in the aftermath
My heart broken and my insides a mess

I still long for your touch
I yearn to hear your voice
I need to feel your embrace
And I would beg to have you back

Damn you for making me love you
How dare you do this to me
I trusted you
You broke me

And yet...
Still I long for you

well written...and exactly what I would like to say to someone myself.

While every care is taken to ensure the general sites content is family safe, our moderators cannot be in all places; all the time. Please report poetry and or comments that are in breach of our site rules HERE (Please include poem title or url). Parents also please ensure that you supervise your children well when they are on the internet; regardless of what a site says about being, or being considered, child-safe.

Poetry is much like a great photo, a single "moment in time" capturing many feelings and emotions. Yet, they are very alive; creating stirrings within the readers who form visual "pictures" of the expressed emotions within the Poem. ©
