Feline Lady

Contributed by deadheadpoet on Wednesday, 13th December 2006 @ 05:44:46 PM in AEST
Topic: PetPoems

She came to us
this black fur coated
feline lady

We quickly fell in love
with
green eyes that glow
and a soul that seemed to know...

A coat like velvet, soft
reflections in the light
sleek and silver

Her great and tender heart
you felt
She exuded wisdom
from age

Her gentle touch of paw
could say so much
No language barrier there

Her smile
gentle and reassuring
brought peace to me

Her chattering little voice
that could be so loud
when she needed heard

Such a bittersweet time
so brief

You came to us
and touched our lives
so very deeply

I am truly grateful
for your brief but most
wonderful visit
Miss Kitty

Peace as you continue
your journey

Miss Kitty passed away 12-11-06 after a hell of a fight with a terrible
infection. We had had her only a few weeks, she'll be in my heart
a lifetime.

Dearest Laura it's amazing how an animal such as a cat, can touch our lives in a very special way. The bond and connection is extraordinary. Sadly Miss Kitty is now gone, but I'm sure she'll never be forgotten~
A sad and touching write.
big *heartfelt hugs* for you my dear friend,
sue m

That's so sad you only had her for such a short time. I've had my little girl for 9 yrs - while I was still living with my folks, their cat had kittens - she was there and I fell in love with her. I often just sit and chat with her.
I'm such a cat person and really felt what you must've in this piece. Thank you for sharing it and even though she was only with you for a short time, it's easy to see that she knew you loved her!
Great write!

- Tim

Blessings to your family.

The heart of your pen beats against our capacity to feel and grieve, racing, pulsing, calming, steady and True.

Peace
AJ

As painful as this loss was for you, richer you are for the experience. Your loving words depict such a wonderful bond; and help to emotionally expose you for the animal lover you are....a wonderful quality my friend.

Thanks for sharing: My son and his family had their dog run off about a month ago, and they were devastated.

Will

Dear miss laura .. DH-
this was so beautifully sweet, and heartbreaking.
Just from your sheer words alone I could very
easily fall in love with Miss Kitty.

It's a lovely tribute, sis. You have a tremendously
kind and beautiful heart. Miss Kitty was as lucky
to have you in her brief visit, as you were to have her. :)

*hugs*

~MG
