Releasing Emotions

Contributed by errious on Wednesday, 13th December 2006 @ 03:59:15 PM in AEST
Topic: EmotionalPoetry

How do I express these emotions I have
Inside when they rage and burn
Scolding my thoughts and the way I feel
Do I shout and throw things
And smash things up?
Or swear and drink and say whatever I want?
Do I cry in the corner and think about things
Banished from normal thought?
Do I write a song?
I’ve tried to write a song
But I write poems
They help

I could talk to friends but would they understand?
Or family but neither would they
But I talk to myself the only one
Who really understands
The man in the mirror
He’s so sad but understanding when things happen
He and I can talk about it
Confide in each other
But how do I banish the feelings and hate
That reside within me
I need to release them
But how

I sometimes shout and swear
I sometimes cry and allow my thoughts to enter
Restricted areas of my mind
I sometimes talk but only to
Myself
I sometimes write poems
Just like this
A poem that releases the trapped emotions in my heart
It helps

it is what it is, maybe when we focus on ohters and less on ourself pain will show us a lesson and lessen, until then continue the good work of expressing, rememeber all thoughts are scary yet sacred, all thoguhts are shared endowed from the creator,
peace brother,

A very good poem. I feel it sums up the meanings behind your other poems.

Well Done

Nathan

Poetry is much like a great photo, a single "moment in time" capturing many feelings and emotions. Yet, they are very alive; creating stirrings within the readers who form visual "pictures" of the expressed emotions within the Poem. ©
