Begin again, hungry to feel
Drink it all down with the urge to steal.
Fold the napkin of making sense,
Spoon of reason too far bent.
Instant anger in your coffee cup,
Calming down with no such luck.
Desperation on the side,
Tears demoralize.
Period of time before dessert
A rested numbness from all the hurt.
Feast on chocolate-covered regret
Hoping it’s the last meal for one you'll have to set.
