Lover Leap's Mistress

anguished

I am so far gone.
A soul teetering on a scabrous edge.
I will die forever striving into the depths of Life.
Care to join me,
A Lover's Leap, if you will.
My agony states that loneliness knows me all too well.
The tiny tricklets of light touch my feet as the wind brushes my thigh.
A gasp is forever trapped beneath the flesh of my throat,
and thine eyes roll into the abyss of a forgotten mind.
A wise one once spoke the words "Nevermore",
perhaps they were lost in the embrace of Sorrow,
her dress so tattered with snow.
A stolen heartbeat haunts my chest as a memory fights for the surface.
I am not alone in my loneliness,
yet I will forever be alone.
