A Man Walks

The world could not see, as a man walks,
Surrounded by a cloud of curiosity
At the rubble beneath his feet.
Dust in the air chokes the survivors,
But the man did not choke.
His sadness spilled over the land.
He saw the smoke and felt the fear
As he stumbles over the slaughter ground.
It is like war.
Except - these people had no chance to fight back.
Now they are gone.
A white glow fades and his footfall comes heavily.
A lone tear tracks down his face but he does not wipe it away.
It is like love.
His hand reaches out, and he can feel the anguish
And he can hear the screams
On a cold day.
He does not understand.
It is like hatred.
Some see what others do not.
Some help when they are needed
But he was not there to help.
He was not there to answer their calls.
That is guilt

I remember this one also.
I also remember us talking about who the man is, whether he is God e.t.c.
I wonder what others think.
Anyway.
Cool Poem

A few poems were posted on this site for the 5th anniverary of 9/11, and this is one of the better ones.
Perhaps he represents innocence, or naivety, neither of which was useful following that tragedy.
